Job Description

UC San Diego Health is a nationally ranked academic medical center seeking CT Technologists for its Radiology department in San Diego. The team uses advanced multi-slice and dual-energy CT scanners to perform high-quality, low-dose imaging across cardiology, neurology, oncology, trauma, stroke, and other specialties. Responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients; operating CT equipment; selecting and adjusting protocols; reviewing images for quality; following radiation-safety and dose-reduction standards; maintaining accurate records; and collaborating with radiologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams. Technologists explain procedures, provide compassionate patient care, and may participate in protocol development, quality improvement, clinical trials, and continuing education. Assignments may include Level I trauma, comprehensive stroke, inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings across La Jolla, Hillcrest, and East Campus, with floating as department needs require. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program; California CRT-R; ARRT CT registration; venipuncture certification or course completion; BART or BLS at hire with BART completion within six months; and knowledge of PACS and RIS. CRT fluoroscopy, acute-care CT, Level I trauma, stroke-center, and advanced post-processing experience are preferred. New graduates and experienced technologists are encouraged to apply. The posted hiring range is approximately $56.83-$75.84 per hour, depending on experience, license, certifications, and appointment level. UC San Diego Health is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program; California CRT-R; ARRT(RT)(CT) registration; venipuncture certification or course completion; BART or BLS at hire; knowledge of PACS and RIS. Preferred: CRT-F, acute-care CT experience, Level I trauma or stroke-center experience, and advanced CT technology/post-processing experience.
